What is the Pillar Vertical Plank System?

If you’re into excercise, you’ve heard of the plank.

However, a traditional plank has a major downfall— gravity.

The revolutionary Pillar Vertical Plank System re-establishes proper posture, fully stabilizing your entire core, maximizing the natural ‘kinetic chain’ in the muscles that bridge your upper and lower body.

In addition, the ‘kinetic chain’ is fully activated while recruiting an abundance of muscle groups to maintain a true ‘Pillar Plank’ position. By allowing core stabilization, we are better optimizing other core system movements.

“For the first time, the Pillar Vertical Plank System that my athletes have used is now available to the public.”

We didn’t just invent a new machine,
we invented a brand new exercise.

The move you’ve never seen before but should be doing right now.

What makes the Pillar Vertical Plank System superior?

Disadvantages of the traditional prone plank

Advantages of the Pillar

Why should the Pillar join your gym equipment?

It’s not just data, it’s your body.

These are the proven results of the Pillar Vertical Plank System when compared to traditional prone planks:

Higher activation of rectus abdominus muscles

Greater blood lactate in the muscles

Higher activation of glute max muscles

Higher activation of semitendinous muscles

Higher activation of rectus femoris muscles

Higher activation of bicep femoris muscles

Higher activation of lateral gastroc muscles

Higher activation of medial gastroc muscles

EMG analyses of vertical plank vs. prone plank (no hyperextensions) performed by independent third party, led by Douglas A Wajda, PhD, Cleveland State University. With hyperextensions, rectus abdominus saw 400-500% more activation in Pillar vs. prone, with all other results producing comparable activation.

What can you do with Pillar?

Pillar provides a variety of workout exercise options to engage the athlete’s core system:

  • Vertical Plank
  • Vertical Plank Hip Extension
  • Vertical Plank Hip Flexion
  • Vertical Plank Hip Adduction
  • Vertical Plank Serratus Push
  • Vertical Side Plank
  • Vertical Side Plank Abduction
  • Nordic Hamstring Curl*
  • Reverse Nordic Curl*
*COMING SOON! Pillar Rack Mount Attachment & Nordic Curls Attachment. Attachments allow for other exercises to be easily performed and allow for the implementation of a pre-event activation circuit.

Paul Synenkyj, vertical planking in dugout

Invented by a professional baseball strength and conditioning coach

Vertical planking was an idea born in the dugout during a Lake County Captains game (the minor league affiliate of the Cleveland Guardians.)

Core training, the “bridge” between the upper and lower body, has been a focus among healthy individuals and athletes worldwide. However, modern lifestyle has led people to spend a considerable amount of time in a forward flexion posture, i.e. seated for long commutes to-and-from work, while constantly working from a computer, hunched over their smartphone, or even engaging physical activity which might include more strain, such as prone planking or bike riding.

While engaged in the Pillar Vertical Plank, the posture is reestablished and the entire core region is fully stabilized.
